Governor Uba Sani on Tuesday commissioned the 22-kilometre Pambeguwa–Kahutu–Kauru road, delivering a major infrastructure boost to Kubau and Kauru Local Government Areas in Kaduna State.
The project features a key bridge that directly links both LGAs and improves regional connectivity.
Travel Time Drops Sharply
Governor Sani said the new road has drastically reduced travel time between Pambeguwa and Kauru.
“When we flagged off this project on August 27, 2024, the journey took nearly one hour. Today, motorists complete the same trip in under 12 minutes,” he said.
He noted that Kauru ranked among 12 LGAs that had not received significant road development in the past 12 years.
“We made a promise in August 2024. Today, we have fulfilled it. We returned with results,” the governor stated.
Government Expands Infrastructure Across Kaduna
Governor Sani said his administration has launched an aggressive infrastructure expansion plan across Kaduna State’s three senatorial zones.
Since assuming office, the government has started construction on 140 roads covering more than 1,335 kilometres. Contractors have completed many of these projects, while work continues steadily on others.
“We rely on data, equity, and strategic planning to correct years of imbalance in access and opportunity,” he explained.
Road to Strengthen Agriculture and Local Economy
The governor designed the road to pass through agriculturally productive communities, enabling farmers to move produce quickly to markets and processing centres.
The new infrastructure will:
Reduce travel time and transport costs
Improve access to schools and hospitals
Support emergency services
Increase trade activities
Strengthen agricultural value chains
Governor Sani also pledged to construct township roads within Kauru and restore electricity to the town after nearly 20 years of blackout.
Economic Impact
The new road opens up rural communities, stimulates commerce, and strengthens mobility across Kubau and Kauru LGAs.
Residents now enjoy faster travel, improved market access, and better connections to essential services.
