Renowned estate surveyor and valuer, Bode Adediji, has linked the expansion of golf in Nigeria to the nation’s socio-economic progress. Speaking in Lagos, Adediji highlighted the upcoming 2026 Business Network Golf Tournament at Smokin Hills Golf Resort, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, set for February 21.
Sponsored by Bode Adediji Partnership and Kontinental Developers Limited, the event will bring together professionals, artisans, and businessmen from across Nigeria and beyond. Adediji explained that the tournament is a way to contribute to the sporting community while promoting leisure, recreation, and professional networking.
He noted that thriving golf cultures in countries like Japan, China, South Korea, the United States, and Italy often correlate with economic and infrastructural development. “It is an index of development,” he said.
The Smokin Hills Golf Resort, developed by Ondo-born Chief Michael Adeojo of Elizade Motors, is a premier 18-hole course located about 20 minutes from Akure. Adediji praised the course’s aesthetic appeal and world-class standards, comparing it favorably with IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja and Le Meridien Ibom Golf Resort, Uyo.
